PraxiTek is hiring, and it may be the opportunity that you’ve been looking for:
Maybe you already have some professional experience, and you’re looking to leverage your aptitude for technology to pivot your career into an exciting Tech career…
Or maybe you’re already experienced at installing data or security/AV cabling, and you want to branch out into PC’s, Networks, Cloud, and Servers?
Either way, we may have an opportunity for you:
ABOUT YOU
Technology: Technology excites you, you’re hungry for knowledge, and you like solving problems.
People: You like people and are comfortable in front of customers -- at an on-site visit, on a phone call, and in a ticket/email conversation.
Character: Above all, you are honest, dependable, and a hard worker.
Growth: Our goal is to provide you a great work environment with rich, hands-on, opportunities for growth and learning from some of the best! We will give you our best, and we ask for your best in return.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND REQUIREMENTS
You have a broad set of duties and responsibilities including the following, and other duties and tasks will be assigned as needed. We think that you will be excited by this, because you are a team player and you love to learn new skills:
As an IT specialist, you will assist in the configuration, support, maintenance, and repair of PC's, servers, firewalls, phone/VoIP equipment, cabling, directory and identity services, and systems management and security software, as well as making use of related infrastructure and tools.
You will also learn and support various specialty software and hardware that are used by our customers.
You may perform physical installation of data/network and other low-voltage cabling systems, computer/network infrastructure hardware, and related IT systems. This may require light construction work.
You are willing and able to do physical work, climb ladders, work briefly in tight spaces, and lift heavy things (50 lbs) if needed while completing such tasks as pulling and dressing up cables, drilling holes, and installing equipment.
You may use enterprise monitoring and management tools and processes in support of our objectives of stability, security, and compliance.
You may write scripts to automate processes and to enhance reliability, monitoring, reporting, and visibility into our customers' environments.
You will follow standards and processes and contribute ideas to improve them. You will author and update documentation of processes and inventories, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
You will work with our customers over the phone, in person and on-site, and through ticketing systems to resolve their technology issues. You will document all work and communications, and log your time against the tickets, projects, and tasks that you are working.
You will communicate openly and honestly, and always present and conduct yourself with professionalism and courtesy with our customers and with your teammates.
You will protect PraxiTek proprietary data and techniques, and our customers' data, both during and after any engagement.
You must be willing to work daily in the PraxiTek office during normal business hours and participate in an on-call rotation. Some maintenance and project activities necessarily occur outside of regular business hours, so you will need to be available to participate in non-business-hours projects and tasks a few times per month.
You must have reliable transportation and be willing to drive your car safely and legally to customer sites and projects. Travel time to customer sites is compensated, and auto costs are reimbursed at the standard IRS rate.
To be successful, you must show initiative and be a self-starter.
All PraxiTek staff strive to live the PraxiTek values, which are: Integrity, Service, Performance, and Innovation.
